Erik ten Hag admits £64m Man Utd ace has had a 'disaster' this season, confident it will change
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has admitted that Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has had a "disaster" this season, but he is confident that the England international will turn things around.
Sancho, who joined United from Borussia Dortmund for £64m in the summer of 2021, has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford. The 22-year-old has scored just three goals in 29 appearances in all competitions this season, and his performances have been criticized by fans and pundits alike.
However, Ten Hag believes that Sancho has the potential to be a key player for United, and he is confident that the winger will rediscover his best form next season.
"I think Jadon is a great player," Ten Hag said. "He has a lot of qualities. He's fast, he's skillful, he can create chances and he can score goals. But this season has been a disaster for him."
"He hasn't played well, he hasn't scored enough goals and he hasn't had enough assists. But I'm confident that he will turn things around next season."
"I'm going to work with him, I'm going to help him and I'm going to give him the confidence he needs to succeed."
"I'm sure that he can be a key player for us next season."
Sancho is not the only United player who has struggled this season. The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Premier League, and they have been knocked out of both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.
However, Ten Hag is confident that United can turn things around next season.
"I know that we have a lot of work to do, but I'm confident that we can be successful," Ten Hag said. "We have a good squad, we have a lot of talent and we have a great manager."
"I'm excited about the future of this club, and I'm confident that we can achieve great things together."
